Beginning my coaching career with a team that won its conference championship last year is a pretty amazing place to start. "As I step into the role of assistant coach, I am grateful to coach White for believing in my abilities and trusting me to stand beside her to build on all the greatness that is already a part of this team. "I am beyond excited to be a part of Aggie Nation," Slocum said. Slocum arrives in Logan after spending the previous two seasons as a volunteer assistant coach at Arizona State, where she worked with White, who was an assistant coach with the Sun Devils before becoming just the fifth head coach in Utah State history. She will help create and foster a competitive and fun culture that our athletes are going to thrive in.
Rachel's experiences as a student-athlete at Eastern Michigan and the University of Florida have helped shape her into the coach she is today. "She is hungry for success and will always put the student-athlete experience at the forefront of her career. I have had the pleasure of working with her the past two seasons at Arizona State and she is one of the brightest up-and-coming coaches in the industry.
"Her driven, charismatic and love-for-life personality is the perfect combination for our team. "I am honored to have Rachel join my staff at Utah State," White said. Slocum will be the primary coach on vault.
LOGAN, Utah – First-year Utah State head gymnastics coach Kristin White announced Thursday the addition of Rachel Slocum to her staff as an assistant coach.
